Overview
Role: A Crash Test Engineer responsible for preparing and executing crash safety tests at component and full-vehicle levels to support vehicle development. They analyze test and simulation data, develop safety performance targets, and collaborate with design engineers. They also develop, calibrate, and validate crash sensing systems, evaluate sensor performance, and coordinate with restraint system engineers to ensure occupant protection across regulatory and consumer tests.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with 0-2 years of relevant crash safety testing experience. Proficiency with CAE tools (LS-Dyna, ANSA, Meta-Post), Catia, Linux OS, and MS Office is preferred.
Responsibilities: Conduct physical crash tests, analyze results, and report findings. Develop testing plans, specifications, and collaborate cross-functionally. Validate crash sensors and strategies for robustness and compliance.
Working Conditions: Willingness to work in a physical testing environment, perform crash tests, and occasionally travel or work overtime as needed.
