Overview
Role Summary: Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel semi-trucks and trailers, ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Duties:
- Assess and adhere to maintenance schedules, prioritizing work orders
- Collaborate with supervisors and other departments
- Document maintenance and repairs accurately using maintenance systems
- Perform DOT inspections on tractors and trailers
- Repair and replace air brake components, batteries, starters, alternators, and cooling systems
- Service suspension, hubs, electrical systems, hydraulic liftgates, and refrigeration components
- Maintain detailed service records and repair documentation
- Diagnose refrigeration issues, repair electrical components, and perform refrigerant leak detection
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Required to provide and maintain mechanic tools
- Completion of safety certification for material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers (training provided)
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, walk, stand, handle tools, lift up to 75 pounds, and work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and noise. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, and travel as needed.
