Overview
Role Overview: This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff are trained, fully staffed, and operating according to company standards to meet performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory ordering and maintenance, ensuring product freshness and quality.
- Review received orders for accuracy, condition, and proper storage.
- Supervise team activities, including stocking, production, and handling spoiled products.
- Maintain product knowledge, store promotions, and sales features.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, safety guidelines, and cleanliness standards.
- Implement work schedules, labor control, and manage payroll expenses.
- Develop departmental goals, forecasts, and monitor performance metrics.
- Participate in meetings and communicate plans effectively.
- Lead staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; retail experience and supervisory skills preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership ability in a hands-on environment, with strategic planning and business acumen.
- Knowledge of retail operations, management systems, and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Depending on location, Spanish communication skills are highly desirable.
