Overview
Role Overview: The General Service Technician performs non-technical automotive services such as oil changes, tire installation, and wheel balancing. Responsibilities include driving customers, picking up parts, maintaining shop cleanliness, and operating company vehicles safely. The role involves basic vehicle inspections, documenting vehicle conditions, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
Qualifications: Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and have or be able to obtain a State Inspector License. A basic understanding of automotive components and ability to work Monday through Saturday are required.
Key Duties:
- Mounting/dismounting tires, balancing, and rotation
- Performing oil changes and basic services under supervision
- Observing vehicle condition and reporting repairs or safety concerns
- Maintaining shop cleanliness
- Transporting customers and parts safely
- Conducting State Safety and Emission Inspections ethically
- Adhering to safety protocols and company policies
Physical & Working Conditions: Must be able to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in environments with noise, fumes, and temperature variations. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.
