Overview

Role Overview: This position involves managing client relationships, providing expert advice on compensation, benefits, and HR services, particularly within Mergers and Acquisitions tax. The manager oversees service delivery, manages team performance, and ensures risk and financial management of engagements. They assess tax impacts, develop supporting tax strategies, and contribute to market activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Tax, Audit, and Advisory teams to deliver client solutions
  • Manage senior-level client relationships and oversee project teams
  • Monitor engagement risks, billing, collections, and budgets
  • Analyze tax implications, develop tax arguments, and recommend strategies
  • Contribute to external market and business development efforts
  • Mentor and coach junior staff; participate in training and seminars

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum five years of federal tax experience with employer benefit strategies
  • Experience in benefits, global compensation, employment tax, M&A advisory, or executive compensation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or related field; law degree is a plus
  • Professional credentials such as CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or advanced degrees (MBA, FSA, CBP, CCP, CEBS, GPHR, PHR, SPHR) are preferred
  • Knowledge of corporate taxation, partnerships, and data analytics
  • Strong advisory, compliance, and communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts
