Overview
Role Overview: The Design Manufacturing Engineer develops manufacturing processes for aircraft products, collaborating with engineering to ensure producibility, evaluate build processes, develop tooling, and implement process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owns production process definition and implementation for assigned aircraft areas.
- Identifies, approves, and troubleshoots tooling requirements; performs root cause analysis on non-conformances.
- Reviews and approves engineering drawings to ensure manufacturability.
- Coordinates engineering and shop floor changes; creates installation and build plans.
- Manages design-for-manufacturability requests and reviews change requests impacting production.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical, or aerospace preferred; minimum 2 years experience.
- Experience in manufacturing detail parts, assemblies, and installations; supports manufacturability reviews (DFM/DFA).
- Proficient in developing installation plans, evaluating design risks, and defining tooling.
- Skilled in 2D/3D drawing review, CATIA V5/V6, GD&T, and SAP is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, data analysis, and project management skills; able to lead and coordinate teams.
- Self-starter with proven ability to work independently and collaborate within teams.
