Overview
Role Overview: This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff are trained, fully staffed, and meet company standards and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory, including ordering, proper markdown procedures, and product freshness.
- Validate received orders for quality, quantity, and condition, ensuring proper storage.
- Lead a team to complete stocking, production, and quality tasks, including handling spoiled/damaged products.
- Maintain product knowledge, including ad items, special deals, and store promotions.
- Implement and communicate weekly plans, schedules, and safety guidelines.
- Support staffing, training, performance management, and development of associates.
- Participate in meetings, maintain a clean and organized department, and ensure food safety and safety protocols are followed.
- Perform cycle counts, monitor date checking, shelf cleaning, and execute company programs.
- Support achievement of department goals and key performance indicators.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, including cross-departmental support.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent; retail experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for extended periods, and adapt to varied temperatures and environments.
