Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Long Haul Driver. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of long-distance driving, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. As a Long Haul Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods over long distances, ensuring our clients' satisfaction and maintaining our company's reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive long-haul trucks to transport goods and materials across the country
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and ensure its safety and readiness for the journey
- Secure cargo and transport it to its destination in compliance with all safety regulations
- Communicate with dispatchers, fellow drivers, and customers to provide updates on the delivery status
- Plan routes and make necessary stops for fuel, rest, and maintenance as per company policies
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, including logbooks, trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, reporting any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to protect yourself, the cargo, and the public at all times
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a long-haul truck driver
- Valid Class A CDL license and a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of transportation laws, rules, and regulations
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle long hours of driving and work under pressure
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of truck maintenance and basic repair
- Must pass a drug test and background check
