Overview
Role Overview: Responsible for operating the cash register and electronic scanner to process customer purchases, receive payments, and assist with bagging, while providing courteous customer service.
Key Duties:
- Operate cash register, handle various payment methods, and process transactions accurately.
- Weigh, bag, and ensure proper identification of products, including groceries, produce, and meats.
- Maintain knowledge of store programs, product locations, and promote in-store specials and loyalty programs.
- Ensure compliance with security, cash handling, food safety, sanitation, and safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized department; assist with stocking and merchandising as needed.
- Follow all safety, PPE, and guest experience standards; perform additional tasks across departments as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and environments.
