Role Overview:
Seeking a Manager/Senior Manager for a Business Tax Services practice to lead client portfolios, manage teams, and deliver high-quality tax advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage client relationships, act as primary contact, and oversee project teams.
- Monitor engagement risk, financials, billing, and budgets.
- Provide tax consulting, assess tax impacts, develop support arguments, and recommend strategies.
- Contribute to market activities, represent the firm externally, and maintain a positive image.
- For Senior Manager: Perform FAS 109 accounting for SEC and non-SEC clients and analyze GAAP rules affecting taxpayers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum five years’ experience as a tax manager in public accounting; corporate tax experience in financial services, funds/private equity, and real estate.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; CPA, JD/LLM, or EA license required, with a one-year window to obtain if not already held.
- Expertise in taxation of corporations, partnerships, and flow-through entities; proficient in reviewing complex tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, REITs).
- Knowledge of GAAP, ASC 740, and accounting procedures.
- Strong communication skills and experience managing multiple client engagements.
- For Senior Manager: At least eight years of recent corporate tax experience and excellent research and writing skills.
